Hi, I'm Leia! I'm a 25-year-old filmmaker living in Los Angeles. I recently graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor's degree in Narrative Production. While I was there, I wrote and directed my senior film called '21'.
I grew up in Portland, OR and got into film by making stop motions with my American Girl dolls. In 2012, I started posting my videos on YouTube on a channel called rockstar13studios. Over the years, I used my dolls to tell stories of a bunch of silly characters and their misadventures. I was able to gain a following and a community of other doll lovers and young creative people.
A lot of ideas for my films come from my real life, dramatized into comedy. I find that using difficult experiences from my past as creative inspiration has helped me overcome challenges and look at life in a more positive way. I hope that people can relate to the stories I tell, and my films will help them reflect on their experiences in similar ways. My favorite roles writing + directing and production design, and I'm working to pursue those on narrative film projects.
I am currently working on the creative team at American Girl directing dollset photography :)
